From 22-25/10/2019, ABRAPAV participated in the 49th Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Psychology, held at the Federal University of Paraíba, in João Pessoa. On the occasion, the President, Márcia Molinari, and the Treasurer, Selma Ribeiro, represented ABRAPAV, on October 23, at the preparatory meeting for the International Congress of Psychology, to be held in Rio de Janeiro in 2024. On 10/25, ABRAPAV representatives also had the opportunity to participate in an institutional table, in which they presented the Association, its history, current and future actions. The Round of Conversation “Dialoguing on Aviation Psychology” took place on September 20, at the headquarters of the CRP-RJ, in downtown Rio. Organized by the Human Mobility Axis of the CRP-RJ Human Rights Commission, the event had for Its purpose is to debate with (the) professionals the specific demands and challenges of this field of work, in addition to promoting the exchange of knowledge and the planning of actions for this area. During the graduation ceremony of the IPA Aviation Psychology Course, in 2019, ABRAPAV, represented by its President, Márcia Molinari, received a special tribute for the involvement, dedication and partnership in this undertaking. May we continue to contribute to the strengthening of Psychology in this very different environment! We thank the IPA and the Air Force for their trust in us.
In August 2019, there was also the Aviation Psychology Course for Officers (PAVO), developed by the Navy, in São Pedro da Aldeia, preparing military psychologists from that institution to support its air squadrons. César Santos, Fernando Gonçalves and Selma Ribeiro, members of ABRAPAV, had the opportunity to participate as instructors and also collaborated with the preparation of this group. The 34th Conference of the European Association of Aviation Psychology - EAAP, which had been scheduled to take place in 2020, was postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. In order to provide the opportunity for authors to publish accepted papers for the Conference and share the latest research in Aviation Psychology and Human Factors, Proceedings EAAP 2020 was created. The material is only available to ABRAPAV members, and has the article: “Aviation Psychology in Brazil”, authored by psychologist Selma Ribeiro, from the ABRAPAV Board of Directors.
The Brazilian Society of Psychology (SBP) and ABRAPAV, represented by their respective presidents, Ronaldo Pilati and Márcia Molinari, signed a collaboration agreement between the two entities. With the signing of the agreement, the two associations undertake to exchange information in pursuit of common interests to promote training, dissemination and research in Psychology and in its specific areas of action, aiming to contribute to improving the quality of life of the population and increasing of the general well-being of society. ABRAPAV participated in the 50th Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Psychology, held from October 27th to 30th, 2020. On that occasion, Board members Márcia Fajer, Maurício Costa and Selma Ribeiro participated in an institutional Roundtable entitled “As possibilities of Psychology in the context of aviation”.

ABRAPAV's Board of Directors participated in the Regional Meeting: Building Bridges – Aviation Psychology worldwide, which took place on September 28, 2020, the first day of the EAAP Webinar/Virtual Workshop held by the entity biannually. On the occasion, President Márcia Molinari made a presentation on the origin, attributions, initiatives and objectives of ABRAPAV to representatives of Aviation Psychology associative organizations in the world. The meeting served so that old and new Associations could get to know each other and outline common goals for the dissemination and strengthening of Psychology applied to the aviation environment. In addition to ABRAPAV, the following associations participated in the meeting: AAPA (Austria); AAVPA (Australia); AEPA (Spain); AUPA (Uruguay); DGLP (Germany); IT-APA (Italy). And, also, guests from entities still under development, psychologists Modesto Alonso and Kinga Zavory (Argentina); Pedro Acuna (Chile) and Diane Damos (USA).
On March 16, 2020, the Uruguayan Association of Aviation Psychology was created in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay, an entity dedicated to strengthening the aeronautical community with contributions from Aviation Psychology and Human Factors. We wish its president and founder, Psychologist Mónica Gómez Caniella, a great friend and supporter of ABRAPAV, and her team, much success and great achievements. We hope to make an excellent partnership for the representation and growth of Aviation Psychology in Latin America!
On 03/05/2020, the formal presentation of ABRAPAV to the Board of Directors of CRP-05 was held at its headquarters in Rio. At the time, the Association was represented by its President, Márcia Molinari and by the 1st Treasurer, Selma Ribeiro. The President made a presentation of the Association and the Directors were very impressed with the specificity of the area. About the specialty, they reinforced the importance of the specialization course for the formation of qualified professionals. At the end, the President Councilor, Pedro Paulo Bicalho, who was a psychologist at the PMERJ aviation group, and EC-Prev FH, congratulated ABRAPAV representatives for the initiative in creating the Association and invited them to participate in a roundtable at the 14th Regional Exhibition of Practices in Psychology, which will take place on a date yet to be confirmed, in Rio de Janeiro, probably, on the premises of Universidade Veiga de Almeida. The President of ABRAPAV donated a copy of the book “The flights of Psychology in Brazil: studies and practices in aviation” to the CRP collection.
In an ordinary meeting held on February 7, 2020, the entities present approved the inclusion of ABRAPAV, as another entity of the Forum of National Entities of Brazilian Psychology - FENPB. The FENPB constitutes a broad and aggregating space for the organization and collective construction of Brazilian Psychology. It is made up of national entities, which are scientific, professional, union and student (https://site.cfp.org.br/fenpb/). The meetings are held on a quarterly basis and are held under the responsibility of the CFP.
ABRAPAV, a corporate member of the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP), was invited to join the working group being led by that entity to establish competencies for aviation psychologists and specialists in human factors. The objective of this work is to define the skills, behaviors and attitudes that Aviation Psychologists (PsyAv) and Human Factors Specialists (FHS) need to perform their functions effectively, obtaining qualifications to be verified and measured regularly. Organized by the South American Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization, in Lima, Peru, as part of the activities of the Regional Cooperation System for Operational Security Surveillance (SRVSOP). Held from June 7th to 9th, 2021, the Seminar had as its objective “To deepen knowledge and share best practices in the assessment and management of mental health of aviation personnel, in order to minimize the impact on operational safety”. Carried out by the Associación Latinoamericana de Psicología Aeronáutica – ULAPA, on April 29 and 30, 2021, with presentations on topics relevant to the area. ABRAPAV, as one of the founding associations, was represented with two themes: “Retrospective and Perspectives of Aviation Psychology in Brazil”, presented by Márcia Molinari, President, and by Dr. Selma Ribeiro, 1st Treasurer; and “Participation of psychologists in accident investigation”, theme discussed by Márcia Molinari.
ABRAPAV, represented by its president, Márcia Molinari, participated, on March 29, 2021, in the first meeting of the entity that intends to bring together associations in the area of Aeronautical Psychology in South America with the objective of contributing to scientific and strengthening of Psychology applied to the aeronautical environment in the region. This first meeting was attended by representatives of the Associations from Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, Uruguay and Peru. On April 29 and 30, the First Latin American Symposium on Aeronautical Psychology was held to celebrate the birth of ULAPA. Currently, the group of associations is working on the preparation of the entity's Statute and its social media.
On May 8, President Marcia Molinari participated in the EAAP Business Meeting 2021. In this event, the priorities of EAAP 2021/2022 were presented.

The Latin American Union of Aeronautical Psychology Associations (ULAPA) carried out a survey to identify the perception of aeronautical personnel (pilots, flight attendants, air traffic controllers, aircraft maintenance professionals, ground support technicians) about the work of the psychologist, in the Latin American context.

On October 20, 2021, for the festivities of the Brazilian Aviator Week, the UNINASSAU University offered a program entitled "The SARS COVID-19 pandemic and the return of air operations". On the occasion, the President of ABRAPAV, Márcia Molinari, gave the lecture "Caring for Mental Health in the return of air operations", at a table attended by Cmte Ronald Van Der Put, from Emirates Airlines and Founder of the Teaching for Free Group , and Cmte Thomas Endara Garzon, Operational Safety Advisor for DHL Aviation (Ecuador).

The Brazilian Institute of Psychological Assessment (IBAP) promoted on August 16 - with the support of the Federal Council of Psychology (CFP) - a virtual march in defense of psychological tests. The activity intended to demonstrate the presence of psychological assessment in our daily lives, highlighting the importance of this field of activity in Psychology for the life and safety of people and society.
For the act, different social actors and representatives of institutions were invited to give their testimony about the benefits of psychological assessment and the reasons why defending psychological tests means protecting life.
ABRAPAV was represented by its President, Márcia Molinari, who presented the importance of psychological tests for the aeronautical environment, especially for the Aeronautical Medical Certificate.

On March 15 and 16, 2022, the Congress of the Brazilian Association of Relatives and Friends of Air Accident Victims – ABRAPAVAA – took place in São Paulo, with the presentation of 20 panels and the participation of professionals from different areas who spoke about the theme of Crisis Management and Assistance in Traumatic Events, from various perspectives and possibilities. In one of the panels with the theme “Aviation Psychology - Impact on Mental Health”, ABRAPAV was represented by its President, psychologist Márcia Regina Molinari Barreto. From June 6 to 8, 2022, the 11th ALTA Pan American Aviation Safety Summit took place in São Paulo, an event organized by the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association - ALTA, in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), International Air Transport Association - IATA and the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF).
The focus of the presentations was “on the review of safety trends and the development of critical solutions for the future of the aviation industry, specifically in the Pan American region, especially in the context of the covid-19 pandemic”, with national and international participation.
At the invitation of ALTA, ABRAPAV was represented by its Vice-President, Marcia Fajer, and had the presence of the Psychologist Associate Vanessa Dias Kfouri, representing CENIPA, in the panel on the theme “Pilot`s Mental Health – Peer support advances”.

On June 25, 2022, Tuiuti do Paraná University held the V Seminar UTP Safety in Aviation, honoring the “Women in Aviation”. The event was organized by the students of the Professional Aircraft Piloting course at the University and had the participation of Psychologist Marcia Fajer, Vice-President of ABRAPAV, who presented the lecture “How to decide in unforeseen situations in aviation”. Other participants in the event were: Sabrina Caetano, who addressed the theme “Safety in Maintenance”; Tatiana Jordão, who spoke about “Crisis Management in Aviation”; and the Psychologist Cátia Nocera, talking about “Human Factors in Aviation Safety”. With the theme “Diversity, Inclusion and Equity: Challenges and Possibilities for the Work World”, the Brazilian Society of Organizational and Work Psychology held from 6 to 8 July 2022, in virtual format, and from 12 to 14 July 2022, in person, in São João del-Rei (MG), its X Congress.
On the occasion, ABRAPAV, represented by its President, Márcia Molinari, participated in the institutional roundtable whose theme was “Precarious work, mental health and its impacts on society”, on July 7th.
The Associate Thatiane Machado de Mello Silva also participated in the event, who presented the works “Perception of the climate of safety and well-being at work in high-risk activities and performance in the military context” and “Importance of fatigue prevention in aerial activity: an account of offshore aviation, the latter having as co-authors the Associate and Founder of ABRAPAV Cesar da Silva Santos and the psychologist Vanessa Vaz Santos Rocha.

In this volume, we have the participation of the Founder and Member of the current Board of Directors, the psychologist Dr. Maurício Pereira da Costa, with a chapter entitled “Psychological Assessment and Civil Aviation”.
Launched in 2023, this work is the second volume of a book proposed by the Human-Animal Evaluation, Rehabilitation and Intervention Research Group (ARIHA) on psychological assessment in contemporary contexts.
The themes of the chapters deal with handling and carrying weapons, child victims of sexual violence, foreigners, as well as civil aviation, crisis contexts and feedback interview in the evaluation process.

On June 28th and 29th, the ASAGOL Association of Gol linhas Aéreas held the 7th Operational Safety Workshop as part of the activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the entity.

The Association of Aviation Psychology - ITAPA held its first Convention "Aviation Psychology: Intervention Areas and Perspectives", on May 6, 2023, at the Casa dell'Aviatore, Rome.
We are very happy, as the work of the Latin American and Caribbean Union of Aviation Psychology Associations - ULAPA, "Perception of the Latin American and Caribbean Aviation Community about Psychology", presented by ULAPA President, the psychologist Monica Caniela, was awarded as the best poster presented at the -ITAPA conference.

On July 8th, via Instagram, Emilia Efrange, President of the Brazilian Association of Psychotherapy - ABRAP, received the psychologist Mauro Matias, an ABRAPAV associate, for a conversation about “The psychotherapist in aviation: reflections about the therapeutic setting.”

On August 17, ANAC, through the BHEST (Brazilian Helicopter Safety Team) Group, held the "The impact of automation on operational safety" webinar, which featured the participation of psychologists Cesar da Silva Santos, founder and member of the ABRAPAV Management Council, and Filipe Passaroni Daumas, an ABRAPAV associate, who presented, respectively, "Human and Ergonomic Factors in Aviation" and "Automation, Ergonomics and Cognitive Risks".

On September 21, our member Mauro Santos Matias defended his Master’s Thesis in Public Health, by the Faculty of Public Health of the University of São Paulo (USP), entitled "The Use of Psychotropic Substances in Aviation: an Integrative Review", which featured the participation of the Founder and member of the ABRAPAV Management Council, Dr. Selma Ribeiro, as a member of the examining board.
The thesis material will be available soon in the restricted area for members.
On November 30, the Brazilian Union for Quality organized a live with the theme "The Human Factor and Physical and Mental States", led by Mr. José Alexandrino Machado, coordinator of the Operational Safety Studies Group, with the participation of Dr. Ricardo Guimarães, from UBQ, and the psychologist Mauro Matias, an associate of ABRAPAV.

Published the 17th Edition of the ASAGOL Safety News Magazine. In this edition, in the “ABRAPAV Space”, an article by the Psychologist Claudia Daemon, founder and member of the current ABRAPAV management, about the “Interpersonal relationship between pilots and traffic control officers and air operations safety in aviation”.

The psychologist Dr. Cesar da Silva Santos, one of the founding members of ABRAPAV, published the article entitled "APPLICABILITY OF PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT IN DIFFERENT CONTEXTS" in the e-book organized by CRP-RJ. In the article, he presents a report of experiences acquired throughout his professional practice, where psychological assessment was applied in various contexts: Psychology applied to polar environments; Organizational and work psychology; Traffic psychology, covering maritime (merchant ships, military ships, and submarines), terrestrial (railway), and aerial (fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviation, aircraft repair, and air traffic controllers) modes.

In celebration of its 10 years, ABRAPAV, in partnership with CENIPA, published the Special Edition of Revista Conexão SIPAER. This commemorative edition includes articles on experience reports, literature reviews, and research communications conducted by psychologists working in aviation, who contribute their knowledge to the strengthening of Aviation Psychology in Brazil.
